RoDTEP & RoSCTL Extended Till 31 Dec 2026: What Exporters Should Do

Jayanth Chandra··6 min read·RoDTEP extended December 2026, RoSCTL extension Dec 2026

RoDTEP runs till 31 December 2026 at unchanged rates and caps; RoSCTL for apparel runs 1 Oct–31 Dec 2026; RELIEF Component-II ECGC cover for West Asia is extended too. Here is who is covered and what to finish before the deadline.

Short answer: both schemes run till 31 Dec 2026, rates unchanged

The Centre extended RoDTEP till 31 December 2026 for DTA units, advance authorisation holders, SEZs and EOUs at the same rates and value caps, and RoSCTL for apparel, garments and made-ups from 1 October to 31 December 2026. RELIEF Component-II — 95% ECGC cover for specified West Asia shipments — is extended alongside, with premiums capped at pre-disruption levels.

Rates and caps: nothing changes

RoDTEP continues at the rates and value caps in force on 30 September 2026 — typically 0.3%–3.9% of FOB value depending on product, paid as transferable e-scrips usable against basic customs duty. Because nothing repriced, the only thing that matters is staying inside the window: exports on or before 31 December 2026 qualify; anything after depends on a fresh notification that does not exist yet.

Check your HS line

The DGFT revised the RoDTEP schedule with effect from 1 May 2026 (142 HS lines added, 50 deleted). Confirm your 8-digit HS code against the current Appendix 4R/4RE before assuming your old rate still applies.

RELIEF Component-II: West Asia ECGC cover

If you ship to the specified West Asian regions, Component-II of RELIEF keeps 95% ECGC risk cover in place and holds your premium at pre-disruption levels for the eligible period. With Red Sea and regional disruptions still repricing risk, this is the quiet part of the announcement that directly protects margins on affected corridors.

Pre-deadline checklist for exporters

  • Pull forward eligible shipments into the till-31-Dec window where commercially sensible.
  • Verify every product's HS code against the May-2026 revised schedule so claims carry the right rate.
  • Keep the EDF, shipping bill, IRM and eBRC chain matched at invoice level — claims reconcile against this data.
  • Track e-scrip generation, use and transfers on the DGFT portal; do not let scrips sit unmonitored.
  • West Asia shippers: confirm your corridor is in the RELIEF Component-II eligible list with your ECGC cover note.
  • Watch DGFT and Commerce Ministry notifications through December for the post-31-Dec position.

Frequently asked questions

Till when is the RoDTEP scheme extended?

Till 31 December 2026. DGFT Notification 41/2026-27 dated 30 September 2026 continues RoDTEP at the rates and value caps in force on 30 September 2026. It covers exports by domestic tariff area units, advance authorisation holders, SEZs and EOUs.

Is RoSCTL also extended?

Yes. The Ministry of Textiles extended RoSCTL for exports of apparel, garments and made-ups for three months, from 1 October to 31 December 2026.

Have RoDTEP rates or caps changed?

No. Existing rates and value caps are unchanged — the extension continues the scheme exactly as it stood on 30 September 2026.

What is the RELIEF Component-II extension?

Component II of RELIEF (Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation) gives 95% ECGC risk cover for shipments to specified West Asian regions. Its extension means the premium exporters pay will not rise beyond pre-disruption levels for the eligible period.

What should exporters finish before 31 December 2026?

Ship and document eligible exports inside the window, verify your HS code against the May-2026 revised RoDTEP schedule, keep the EDF–shipping-bill–IRM–eBRC chain clean so claims reconcile, and use or transfer e-scrips per DGFT portal rules.

What happens to RoDTEP after 31 December 2026?

Not announced yet. The extension is explicitly time-bound amid geopolitical disruption, so track DGFT and Commerce Ministry notifications in December rather than assuming a further rollover.
